For their latest issue, Power,Visionaire has teamed up with the renowned cosmetic house Shiseido to create a hardcover book housed in an iridescent injection-molded case. Nature and beauty are the starting points for Power/, an issue combining saturated colors, "natural" elements and "supernatural" holographic papers. Contributions from Visionaire's usual all-star list of artists, photographers, and image-makers include Mariko Mori, Wolfgang Tillmans, Thomas Struth, Roni Horn, Mark Quinn, Richard Misrach, Nick Knight, Richard Burbridge, Warren du Preez, Nick Thornton-Jones, Fabien Baron, Peter Saville and Me Company. The cover features an image of the singer and actress Bjork, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Visionaire 36: Power: Limited Edition

Visionaire, the highly respected--and highly-sought after--fashion and art publication, featuring the work of some of the world's most prominent artists and image makers, offers Visionaire 38 Love in collaboration with Tiffany &amp; Co. For this issue Visionaire returns to its roots with a hand-crafted volume depicting romantic love, love for life, love for all things beautiful, love for work, love for family, love for friends, what we do for love, and what we do with love. Images and tokens of love, including a special inclusion designed by Elsa Peretti, will be inserted into authentic vintage hard-cover novels, making each copy of this 4,000-run limited edition a unique work.

Description: Visionaire says, "Come PLAY with us." Sixteen artists take to their cameras or computers and create original films in the form of flip books for Visionaire No. 39: Play. Collected together, the sixteen flip books are encased in a sleek tilted case. Contributions include works by leading photographers Steven Meisel, Nick Knight, Mario Testino, Steven Klein, and Craig McDean, plus a provocative dance number captured by Peter Lindbergh and a blooming flower photographed by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. The issue also features a daredevil explosion by video artist Roman Signer; a collaboration between film-graphics firm Imaginary Forces (Minority Report) and architect Greg Lynn; a special message from artist Tony Oursler's lips; cross-country travel from the Snorri Brothers directing team; work from preeminent filmmakers Pedro AlmodAvar, Spike Jonze, Darren Aronofsky, and Wong Kar Wei; and a burlesque Visionaire can-can dancer by Baz Luhrmann. Visionaire No. 39: Play was conceived in collaboration with the creators of PlayStation 2, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE).

Description: Visionaire, the limited-edition fashion and art quarterly consistently pushes the boundaries of what a publication can be. For their 43rd installment, Dreams become reality in an issue "printed" entirely without ink. Exploring cutting-edge technology, photographs and illustrations are transformed into ethereal works of art through a process called laser cutting. Contributors include Craig McDean, Maurizio Cattelan, Adam Fuss, Mario Sorrenti, Simon Periton, and Bruce Weber. These intricate, lace-like masterpieces are protected in a specially designed hard-cover book and slipcase.

Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane has always stood at the intersection of fashion, art and music. Over the past 10 years, his slick, sexy designs and signature cut have revolutionized menswear. Several bodies of his photographic work--2005's London Birth of a Cult and his ongoing "Rock Diary" series for V magazine--have documented underground rock culture at its loudest and most extreme. In this latest project, Slimane teams up with the editors of Visionaire and V to deliver Portrait of a Performer, an exclusive photojournal devoted to the provocative musician and muse, Courtney Love. Shot in New York in August of 2006, just before the release of Love's latest record, the intimate black-and-white studies capture the American pop icon, semi-nude, just before her return to the Billboard charts--defiant, mesmerizing, flawed and vulnerable. Portrait of a Performer documents a highly charged encounter between two creative forces who have influenced rock and fashion, each on their own terms.
