New programmed instruction in braille

“New Programmed Instruction in Braille” (NPIB) provides an efficient, learn-by-doing way to attain mastery of braille and to develop positive attitudes toward this valuable medium. The essential features and rules of usage of the braille code as currently published in English Braille, American Edition 1994 (EBAE) are presented. The presentation follows principles of programmed learning. These include realistic learning activities programmed in meaningful and manageable sequential increments and practical practice and review materials with immediate feedback to assure success and eliminate errors. NPIB helps you achieve maximum skill with the optimum expenditure of time and effort. The text enables you to progress at your own speed whether working independently or in a course. Each chapter presents in logical sequence a manageable amount of the material essential to ultimate mastery. The thirteen units of learning provide a framework leading to mastery with reasonable investments of time and effort for most students. Each chapter is briefly outlined at the beginning and thoroughly summarized at the end. They are divided into small increments called exercises. Each exercise has a key that introduces the new material meaningfully. Answer keys are provided for checking each exercise to enable the student to enjoy immediate success.
