The Guide to Distinguished Restaurants of North America lists the best restaurants in all major North American business centers, as well as a few out of the way places. DiRoNA is a prestigious association with 630 member restaurants in more than 250 cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. DiRoNA's mission is to promote and preserve fine dining throughout North America. The guide lists members alphabetically, by country, state and city, and provides detailed information about each restaurant. The book is divided into two sections: the front is an index that provides names, addresses, phone and fax numbers, cuisine style, price of dinner for two, the days the restaurant is closed and the names of the owners of all DiRoNA Award restaurants. The second half of the book has expanded listings that include a photograph, a description of the restaurant, menu highlights and detailed information about dress codes, credit cards accepted, parking, reservations policy and hours of operation. 
Thanks to influential members such as Charlie Trotter, Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse, restaurateurs famous for their contributions to the development of regional North American cuisine, the DiRoNA designation is rapidly gaining a reputation as the most reliable upscale restaurant guide book on the market. The National Restaurant Association highly recommends it. 
To qualify for the DiRoNA Award, restaurants must be in operation under the same ownership for three or more years, and pass a rigorous evaluation conducted anonymously by independent inspectors. The inspection process examines the total dining experience from reservation to departure, with emphasis on the quality and presentation of food and beverages.
