<p>Early one summer when Mimi Summerskill inherited $30,000 from her grandfather, she chartered a marvelous old 81' wooden racing schooner, took her 5 children, ages 10 to 22, and sailed the islands of Greece for 3 months. It became, says the author, a kind of floating university. On one small island in the middle of the Aegean, Mimi fell in love with some land edging the sea and bought it. Afterwards she built a stone house there to which she and some of her family go a part of each year.
