<p>Weather Report returns to the ancient tradition of oracular stories, but remains in today's language - a langue of &amp; evoking the imagination - not this intellectual language of doggerel we often find in today's letters. I also find, for the most part, that these poems grow and intermingle with one another. After I've read one poem &amp; involved myself with it sufficiently, I turn to the next poem, &amp; by its end, I'm enlightened into the previous poem, &amp; must return to it. This back and forth reflects how Carney simultaneously moves forward and reflects, as the great mythmakers do. His book arrives at a necessary place and time for anyone who is about to drag their last foot into the world of adulthood, or who is already there, or who will be there. For Weather Report provides a forecast of where you might be &amp; conditions you could expect should you get lost in the grown-up world - a world filled with the generic, xenophobia, &amp; habits. But there are no judgments in Weather Report, rather, it is a report - a report of how to move in the adulthood of stasis &amp; withering imagination. In these poems, you will find a "language enough of us can speak" - a language of regenerative myths &amp; rituals that are rooted in the continual &amp; imaginative why? Weather Report is for all ages &amp; professions, is filled with poems that celebrate living, &amp; has poems that move forwards &amp; backwards in time, up &amp; down in imagination, out &amp; into a young soul, &amp; over &amp; under your skin.
