One of the most original artists among the American Impressionists and a member of the Ten American Painters, John Twachtman (1853-1902) created his best known work on his property in Greenwich, Connecticut, from 1889 to 1902. This exhibition catalogue focuses on a select group of Twachtman's Greenwich works: his vibrant and sensuous images in oil and pastel of flowers in the wild and in the artist's own garden as well as rare figurative images, in which Twachtman depicted his family in casual outdoor settings. Within this 104-page publication are essays by Richard J. Boyle, William H. Gerdts, John Douglass Hale, and Lisa N. Peters. Each of the twenty works in the show are illustrated in color and there are an additional eighteen color and twenty-four black and white illustrations.

This 120-page catalogue with over fifty color illustrations showcases the work of Abraham Bogdanove, know for his dynamic images of Monhegan Island, Maine. Like Robert Henri and Edward Hopper, Bogdanove was inspired by the stark drama of Monhegan Island. Returning there each summer from 1918 until the end of his life, he spent his days hiking onto the rocky outcroppings at the water's edge where he applied energetic brushstrokes with vigor and gusto to capture the ever-changing coloristic and compositional possibilities of crashing waves and jagged rocks. This 120-page catalogue, features Impressionist-inspired watercolors by Annie Gooding Sykes, one of America's finest women watercolorists from the turn of the century. Depicting flowers, figures, and landscapes, rendered in New England, the environs of Cincinnati, upstate New York, and Europe, Sykes created a rich body of works that reveal an affinity with the Maurice Prendergast. Her floral images are also aesthetically linked with the garden scenes created by Childe Hassam during his visits to Appledore, in the Isles of Shoals, in the 1890's. The catalogue consists of a biographical essay, over forty color illustrations, and entries by Peter Hastings Falk and Audrey Lewis. A forward by the artist's granddaughter, Christine Ayoub, and a preface by William H. Gerdts are also included.
