Graphs present information visually, making it easier to understand data and relationships among data. By building, interpreting, and summarizing graphs, students are helped to develop their critical thinking skills. This book is a different way to give meaning to math. The graphs are different from the graphs found in a textbook. The graphs in a textbook already have data on them. The graphs you will be using must be responded to by the students, thereby providing data that is particular to your students. Students will be learning about each other as well as math from the graphs.This book is divided into four sections. The first section deals with the details of why? when? how? to use graphs. The second section provides examples of graphs you might use with teacher notes for some of the graphs. The third section contains additional ideas for graphs.
