Since its founding in 1972, the Brandywine Workshop has become an internationally recognized center for printmaking and a vital part of the Philadelphia community. In 2009 the workshop donated one hundred prints to the Philadelphia Museum of Art in memory of its late director Anne d'Harnoncourt. Full Spectrum celebrates this generous gift and documents and contextualizes the workshop's achievements over its distinguished forty-year history.All one hundred prints by the eighty-nine artists represented in the gift—including John Biggers, Barbara Chase-Riboud, Joyce de Guatemala, Sam Gilliam, Mei-Ling Hom, Jacob Landau, Kenneth Noland, Betye and Alison Saar, and Kay Walkingstick—are beautifully reproduced. Cultural identity, political and social issues, portraiture, landscape, patterning, and pure abstraction are some of the many subjects explored in these works, underscoring the breadth of the workshop's conceptual and stylistic reach.

Crown Point Press in San Francisco, founded in 1962 by Kathan Brown, is a world-renowned center of contemporary printmaking. It has published work by such major figures as Richard Diebenkorn, Helen Frankenthaler, Sol LeWitt, and Wayne Thiebaud, while bringing to attention prints by many younger artists, including April Gornik, Anish Kapoor, Eric Fischl, and Francesco Clemente. Crown Point Press is known for presenting social and political issues in a range of printmaking media, from hard- and soft-ground etching to drypoint, aquatint, and mezzotint. The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco acquired the Crown Point Press archive in 1991. This collection of nearly 800 works contains one impression of every print the Press has ever produced. Also included are over 2000 working proofs and preparatory sketches. Now, in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco has organized an exhibition of these distinctive prints. Chronicling Crown Point Press's dedication to artistic quality and commitment to innovation in printmaking technique and subject matter, this book also presents Kathan Brown's notable contributions in transforming the printmaking landscape of the twentieth century. William Daley's geometric ceramic vessels explore the synthesis between interior and exterior, volume and surface, form and symbol. Their unglazed surfaces echo architectural spaces and rhythms. Daley is an innovative artist-educator who helped revolutionize arts education post World War II. Success in his explorations led to many commissions for large-scale public and private screens and sculptures, executed in both bronze and ceramics. This retrospective of the ceramic art of William Daley spans two centuries, from the 1950s through the early 2000s. The text includes an essay by Ruth Fine, Curator of Special Projects for Washington's National Gallery of Art and a foreword by Daley's gallery representative Helen Drutt English. Over 300 brilliant images reveal the ceramic vessels Daley has created, including commissioned work. Also included in the text are William Daley's essays and articles on transforming mud to fired stoneware, his use of "sacred geometry," descriptions of his process in building pots and sculptural commissions, as well as his thoughts on teaching.

James Rosenquist has always known how to combine these seemingly disparate but always all-American elements into whirlwind, billboard-sized collages of airbrushed surreal euphoria, slamming colors, patterns and objects into one another with the eye of an advertising man and the heart of a Pop artist.
