Austrian conductor Hans Rosbaud was a leading figure in European musical life from the late 1920s until his death in 1962. The new edition of Dr. Joan Evan's well-known history of jewellery in Europe from mediaeval times to the mid-19th century, long since recognized as a standard work, has been eagerly awaited.
