<p>Emphasizing the lifeworld, human intentionality and reflection and concern for objectivity and validity, this resource presents a research model based on phenomenology. Philosophical ideas are transformed into an empirical epistemology created with the concepts of openness, immediacy, intersubjectivity, meaning and uniqueness. In addition, methodological principles are outlined for data gathering and analysis.</p>

<p>Using phenomenological philosophy as a foundation, this work explicates interpretative methodologies and reflects a lifeworld research approach. Human intentionality and its capacity for seeing meaning and for reflection are emphasized. Epistemological ideas are transformed into a guiding principle for empirical research, one that allows phenomena to guide the research by which the phenomena and its meanings will be illuminated, understood and explicated. Principles for data gathering and interpretive data analysis are outlined.</p>
