Written without notes in Ireland, and fi rst published pseudonymously in 1948, Imperium is Francis Parker Yockey's masterpiece. It is a critique of 19th-century rationalism and materialism, synthesising Oswald Spengler, Carl Schmitt, and Klaus Haushofer's geopolitics. In particular, it rethinks the themes of Spengler's The Decline of the West in an effort to account for the United States' then recent involvement in World War II and for the task bequeathed to Europe's political soldiers in the struggle to unite the Continent-heroically, rather than economically-in the realisation of the destiny implied in European High Culture. Yockey's radical attack on liberal thought, especially that embodied by Americanism (distinct from America or Americans), condemned his work to obscurity, its appeal limited to the post-war fascist underground. Yet, Imperium transcents both the immediate post-war situation and its initial readership: it opened pathways to a deconstruction of liberalism, and introduced the concept of cultural vitalism- the organic conceptualisation of culture, with all that attends to it. These contributions are even more relevant now than in their day, and provide us with a deeper understanding of, as well as tools to deal with, the situation in the West in current century. It is with this in mind that the present, 900-page, fully-annotated edition is offered, complete with a major foreword by Dr. Kerry Bolton, Julius Evola's review as an afterword (in a fresh new translation), a comprehensive index, a chronology of Yockey's life, and an appendix, revealing, for the first time, much previously unknown information about the author's genealogical background.

Hesketh-Prichard, a popular Edwardian English travel writer, sailed to Haïti in 1899 to survey the conditions on the island, the first-ever Black-ruled republic. At the time, it was believed no White man had ventured in that mysterious and closed-off part of the world since 1804, after General Jean-Jacques Dessalines ordered the massacre of all the Whites in what was then known as Saint-Domingue. Hesketh-Prichard had opportunity to venture deep into Haïti's interior, unknown at the time, and was first to witness the practice of vaudoux (voodoo). He also narrowly escaped with his life, after an attempt was made to poison him. Hesketh-Prichard's observations, narrated in an exquisitely understated tone, cover every aspect of Haïtian society in 1899, ranging from the grotesque to the tragi-comical - indeed, the reader will experience just about every emotion in the human spectrum as he devours this immensely entertaining book. More importantly, Hesketh-Prichard's account explains why Haïti, once one of the most prosperous colonies in the New World, is so profoundly dysfunctional today. It also implicitly explains why the current Third World development paradigm is, however well-intentioned, so profoundly ill-conceived. This new 2012 edition comes complete with an expanded index, contextual footnotes, an introductory essay, and specially commissioned cover artwork by Alex Kurtagic.

Written in 1949, this was Yockey's manifesto for his then newly formed group, the European Liberation Front. As such, it distills the ideas developed in his neo-Spenglerian magnum opus, the 600-page Imperium. The Proclamation was initially circulated in pamphlet form, and as have the few, fugacious re-prints that appeared in the decades following. With our memorial edition this will be the first time that this important text, unique in the English language, appears in a durable, library-grade format, for the benefit of Yockeyist, collectors, and researchers alike. It will come with a major introductory essay by Michael O'Meara, along with Kerry Bolton the world's leading Yockeyist. It will also come with illustrated sections, dozens of footnotes, a detailed index, and cover artwork by Alex Kurtagic, who also did the covers for the Lothrop Stoddard editions featured on this page's left-hand panel.

Originally published in 1927 in W. Paul Cook's The Recluse, a small-circulation amateur magazine, Lovecraft's essay remains unparallelled as a survey of horror literature in the West, spanning the period from antiquity until the 1930s, and covering both the Anglo-American world and Continental Europe. Particularly interesting about horror literature is that its emergence as a genre coincided with the establishment and institutionalisation of liberalism, the latter of which represents a diametrically opposed worldview. This would suggest that horror literature, even if inadvertently or subconsciously, represents an attempt at escaping the limitations of the secular, materialist, rationalist liberal Weltanschauung, as well as a desire for meaning in a world rendered meaningless through 'liberation' from hierarchies, folk traditions, the occult, and the supernatural. Also interesting is the fact that the aesthetics of Gothic horror are invariably and luxuriantly beautiful (if in a dark way), whereas the logical extreme of rationality (utilitarianism, standardisation) is inherently anti-aesthetic. Would this not indicate, then, that the Age of Reason marked the beginning of a process that concluded in late modernity with the wholesale destruction of beauty, except where it, or the counterfeiting of it, was dictated by economic necessity? If so, we may view Lovecraft's essay not merely as a resource for those seeking entertainment within a genre of literature, but also for those seeking to escape, and begin to transcend, liberal modernity. It is perhaps no coincidence that Lovecraft's innate sensibility was elitist and aristocratic; or that he in many ways revolted against the modern world (even though he was scientifically minded); or that he was maddened by the cosmopolitan city (in 1925), repeatedly referring to the need for roots and tradition; or that he rejected humanism and humanist conceits in both his thought and fiction. This fully annotated edition aims at a recuperation, revision, and restatement of the importance of one of the most intriguing areas of the Western literary tradition; and comes complete with a foreword and Gothic cover artwork by Alex Kurtagic, a bibliography of the works mentioned by Lovecraft, a full index, and attractive design.

Proofs of a Conspiracy discusses the rôle of Continental-style Freemasonry, Adam Weishaupt's Illuminati, and Karl Friedrich Bahrdt's German Union in disseminating the 'Enlightenment' ideas that led to the French Revolution, and is also the founding text of the modern conspiracy theory of history in the English language. Whatever criticisms may be made in relation to Robison's methodology, Proofs . . . remains valuable today for several reasons: firstly, it provides a snapshot of Continental-style Freemasonry and secret societies in the 18th century; secondly, it is the earliest attempt, along with Barruel's, to examine the rôle of conspiracies in a revolution; thirdly, it supplies insights into what we may call the 'lowlands' of the 'Enlightenment'-not its eminent thinkers, but the odd and peculiar characters that were also active in this movement; and, finally, it presents a systematic critique of the ideals that in France led eventually to the Terror, thereby serving as a primary source for understanding opposition to the French Revolution and its core ideal of equality as a moral absolute. The Counter-Enlightenment arguments of authors like Robison are today more relevant than ever, since the politics of the West remain a legacy of his era, to the extent that even conservatives ultimately derive their political philosophy from Locke and rely on terminology based on the seating arrangements of the French National Assembly. Though it was soon forgotten, Proofs . . . has had a lasting impact; indeed, we live in times awash with conspiracy theories. Be it about the Illuminati, the Freemasons, the New World Order, 9/11, or master conspiracies involving all of the above, could the growth of conspiratology tell us something about democratic societies in liberal modernity?

Between the late 1970s and the early 1990s, Jonathan Bowden wrote 27 books, about which almost nothing was known until after his death. Combining cultural criticism with memoir, high journalism, and selected correspondence, these texts belong to no particular genre, the prose being allowed to roam where it may, drawing from many strands, finding unexpected links, and collecting shrewd insights along the way. More than anything, they are exercises in exploration and self-clarification, wherein one will find, as work in progress, many of the themes that would later emerge in his orations. The Jonathan Bowden Collection aims at making these obscure texts readily available for the first time, complete with annotations and indices, so that they may be studied and / or enjoyed by present and future generations interested in the dissidents at the margins of British intellectual life at the turn of our century. Blood covers a wide range of topics, including Western Marxism and Louis Althusser, the psychology of Satanism, National Socialism, the conduct of war, virtual reality, the adoption within the art world of Left-wing norms, the Situationist International, Stuart Home, Wyndham Lewis, and the tensions between art and totalitarian politics. The book ends with brief commentaries on then topical events: the Los Angeles Riots of 1992 and the death of British artist Francis Bacon. This is not an essay in any conventional sense, but rather a succession of fervid and unpredictable snapshots that accrete into a panoramic overview of Western civilisation in the 20th century.

First published in English in 1891, the present work argues that genius is a morbid condition, a form of insanity (albeit a very special one), which often occurs alongside physical or other mental abnormalities. Alexander was short. Cardano a hypochondriac. Socrates had a cretin-like physiognomy. Giotto had rickets. Kant had an abnormal development of the left parietal bone. Erasmus stammered. Saint Paul was an epileptic. Coleridge an alcoholic. Nerval a manic depressive. Carlyle abused his wife. Lombroso surveys hundreds of artistic, literary, and religious figures, noting the aberrations in their personalities, private lives, habits, creative work, physical traits, and psychological characteristics. The theory herein advanced, though controversial even in its day, proved nevertheless culturally influential. Notably, the author offered one of the earliest examinations of the art of the insane. Hans Prinzhorn, author of The Artistry of the Mentally Ill (1922) was inspired by Lombroso's examination of psychiatric art. Prinzhorn's work would in turn inspire Jean Dubuffet to found the Art Brut movement. Similarly, Max Nordau's Degeneration (1892)-an attack on degenerate art-owes much to Lombroso's work concerning men of genius in art and literature. Though outdated as a scientific study, with its fusion of criminology, criminal anthropology, degeneration theory, psychiatry, physiognomy, and Social Darwinism, The Man of Genius remains, all the same, a landmark in the history of ideas. And, though modern psychology classes much of what Lombroso deemed signs of insanity as minor aberrations, have his insights not retained an element of truth?

The title derives from Nietzsche's essay, 'Schopenhauer als Erzieher', and the text was a response to the consequences of German unification in 1871, when Prussia's politican successes threatened to engulf Germany with its militarism, industrialisation, and rationalist tendencies in science and art. Marxists responded with economic projects based on the 'class struggle'. Idealists proposed a revolution through the renewal of German culture. Langbehn's work may be considered an early representative of the Conservative Revolution, since it sought to combat the downside of democratic culture at the turn of the century--established by parvenu cosmopolitan elites that promoted foreign, and especially French artistic fashions--with a return to the natural aristocratic ethos of Germany's strongest element. Langbehn's subtle and detailed analysis of the North German character aims at demonstrating its suitability to lead the newly formed German Reich, and to serve as a model for mankind in general. In this effort, Rembrandt symbolised for Langbehn the quintessential German spirit. Moreover, Langbehn's emphasis on the cultivation of the physique as a manifestation of the German's ethical personality found practical application in youth movements, such as the Wandervogel. This long-neglected, infamous, yet historically important work is now available in English for the first time, with footnotes, a comprehensive index, and a scholarly foreword placing it in its proper historical context.
