It recounts Welch's unique history through narrative, biographical sketches, and photographs. Welch was founded by the National Association of Free Will Baptists in 1942 and celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary in 2017.
 Light and Truth includes five chapters surveying the college's history from its founding to the present. Each chapter narrates important changes at the college during specific decades. This allows the reader to gain a clear picture of God's providence, working through faithful Free Will Baptist men and women to build His kingdom. Biographical sketches in each chapter feature some of Welch's important luminaries, such as L. C. and Ruth John son, John L. and Mary Ann Welch, and Charles and Laura Thigpen. Finally, each chapter is filled with rare photos from the college's past that will rekindle memories and spark the imagination.
