With the progress through Islamic Studies curriculum, students are now introduced to additional new topics with greater depth. The Level 6 book takes a break from the life of Rasulullah (S) in order to cover several important topics that have not been covered previously. For example, topics such as the objective of the Qur an, the Compilation of the Qur an, the relationship of the Qur an with previous books and compilation of Hadith are covered. Morals and activities from the lives of Nuh (A), Dawud (A), Sulaiman (A) are covered. The life and activities of Musa (A) are covered in several chapters. Students are required to consult a translation of the Qur n to answer some of the homework. As with other Weekend Learning Islamic Studies books, homework is included. There is a workbook available to supplement the homework provided in this Level 6 textbook. The workbook has many more test question and chapter based activities.

Weekend Learning Series - Islamic Studies Level 6

The Level 1 Islamic Studies book from Weekend Learning is for 5-7 year old children who can read short sentences and write short phrases. Ideally the book is for the 1st grade students. This is their first year in a formal Islamic class. The book uses easy to understand simple and child-friendly languages and sentences. The book has 28 lessons on Allah, the Qur an, Islam, Rasulullah (S), the Hadith and Sunnah and 5-pillars of Islam and so forth. The idea is to cover the basics of Islam. For example, 6 lessons cover the concepts of 5-pillars, 5 lessons cover short introduction to 5 rasuls and nabis, 9 lessons cover Islamic values and morals. Each lesson begins with a coloring page. The coloring time helps students settle down and be comfortable in the class before the lesson begins. Attention span of children is small; therefore, short paragraphs introduce two or three concepts. This is followed by in-class review section to allow for short break and reinforce learning. Some homework is included in the book, however schools and parents are encouraged to buy a separate workbook that has many more test questions and chapter-based activities.

Weekend Learning Series - Islamic Studies Level 1

This revised edition is Ideally for 7-8-year old, second or third grade students. The children are in their second or third year in a formal Islamic class. This book builds on the knowledge base of the Level 1 book, with an additional emphasis while introducing the basics of Islam. All lessons are presented thematically in distinct units. Unit 1 focuses on the Creator and His message. This unit answers questions about Allāh, Islam, faith, and the Qur’ān. Unit 2 covers topics on our Ibadat-focusing on the five-pillars of Islam. Unit 3 covers the stories of some of the Messengers. Unit 4 covers some other topics about Islam that are relevant for students in this age group. An early undertanding of some of the basics of Islam is presented in this unit. Unit 5 describes proper adab and akhlaq learned from the Qur’ān and authentic sunnah of the Messenger (s). Weekend Learning Islamic Studies: Level 2 (Revised and Enlarged Edition)

With the progress through Islamic Studies curriculum, students are now introduced to additional new topics with greater depth. These mature students will now learn the objective of the Qur an with a new perspective. Interesting topics such as Trials in Life, Importance of Hope, Friends and Friendship, Duties Toward Parents and so forth are covered. These topics will build excellent moral grounds in the students. The book reintroduces some of the key events from Rasulullah s (S) life in Makkah with an objective to highlight the abiding teachings we can learn from them. Students will learn the history of the major battles and also the activities of some of the non-Muslim tribes living in Madinah. Several other topics cover Islamic values and morals. The Level 3 book introduced a short summary of the Makkah and Madinah periods of Ras lull h s (S) life. In this Level 4 textbook, several lessons describe many key events from the life of Ras lull h (S). For example, condition of pre-Islamic Arabia, Year of the Elephants, early life of Ras lull h (S), receipt of prophethood, Pledges of Aqabah, Hijrat to Madinah, overall life in Madinah and Liberation of Makkah. A summarized life of the Rightly Guided Khalifah is also introduced along with a short biography of some of the prophets. Islamic values and morals are continued to be addressed. Homework becomes more intensive. Students are required to consult a translation of the Qur n to answer some of the homework questions. The textbook has some homework included in it, however schools and parents are encouraged to buy a separate workbook that has many more test questions and chapter-based activities.

Weekend Learning Series - Islamic Studies Level 4

With the progress through Islamic Studies curriculum, students are now introduced to additional new topics with greater depth. Islamic Studies Level 3 book provided a short summary of the Makkah and Madinah periods. Islamic Studies Level 4 book provided a short summary of the key events in Makkah. Now, the Level 5 book introduces the key events in Madinah, for example, the battles in Madinah leading to the Hudaibiyah Treaty and Liberation of Makkah. The key events from the life of Adam (A), Luqman (A), Ayyub (A), Zakariyyah (A), and Yahya (A) are covered. The events from the life of Ibrahim (A) and Yusuf (A) are covered in multiple lessons. Homework continues to be intensive. Students are required to consult a translation of the Qur n to answer some of the homework. Islamic Studies Level 9 are for those students who are 13-15 years old, and are serious readers and they can analyze complex topics. For this reason, in this book, students are now introduced to additional age-appropriate, moral-building topics with greater depth. Thought provoking topics such as Ponder Over the Qur an, Islam and Violence, Peer Pressure, Alcohol and Gambling, Permitted and Prohibited Food, Food of the People of the Book, Indecency, Family Values and so forth are covered. Many of these topics provide materials for inter-faith discussion. All topics are sure to provide high-school students sufficient materials for serious, intelligent discussion. This book is for students in full-time and weekend Islamic schools. The experience and events of Rasulullah (S)'s life are explained in a manner that builds the moral and spiritual character of students.
