Michael Orlik has now revised the text to take account of legislation since the original edition, including the Countryside and Rights of Way Act. The cases now reaching the higher courts on the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the subsequent regulations are also covered, as is the House of Lords decision in the "Wildtree Hotels" case in the context of compulsory purchase and compensation. The recent environmental legislation and the implications of the Human Rights Act on highway administration are considered.
