Ambushed is written with the hope of changing the course of "shifting saints" from a desperate search for the right church to the passionate pursuit of making disciples. It's also written to help Christians understand important truths about living and leading in Christ's likeness and avoiding the enemy's snares - to escape the ambush and entrapment caused by the unseen powers of darkness. Our Lord never intended that His Church helplessly stand idle while Christians are needlessly persecuted from within. Jim Biscardi's heart, as a Christian leader and teacher, is inexorably connected to this struggle. He shares his knowledge of God's Word and actual examples of destructive confrontations from his 33 years of Christian experience. Members of the Church must stop hurting one another. Everyone wonders about what will be in their future.  Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us the answer about 2000 years ago. He commanded the Apostle John to "Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later."  Revelation 1:19.   But what John wrote has been a mystery and difficult to decipher even for the most serious and sincere Christian.  It requires unraveling many symbols, visions, and above all putting events in their proper sequence.  And yet those who are willing to study and keep its message are rewarded by the Lord, "Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near."  Revelation 1:3.   The diligent reader of the Book is awed by Christ's person, grace, and power.  As the Lamb of God, it demonstrates His desire that none should perish - leaving a powerful witness for those left behind after the rapture.   As the Head of the Church, He provides both a warning to stay ready for His return, and encouragement that by His strength we can overcome all things.  As the returning Messiah, He vanquishes all evil, and claims His right to rule over heaven and earth.   What's In Your Future? offers a suggested sequence that places events in chronological order, and that also groups symbols together that are reiterating and adding detail to similar events - thus reducing or eliminating repetition.  This results in portions of the Book of Revelation being read "out of order."  Our belief is that Revelation is a microcosm of the entire Word of God - where prophecies do not occur in a chronological sequence.     We also gather together scriptures from other parts of God's Word that confirm and add meaning and understanding to the various parts of Revelation.   Finally, we have added author insights that will bring perspective and also (we trust) glorify the One and only One who is ".worthy. to receive glory and honor and power, for (He) created all things, and by (His) will they were created and have their being." Revelation 4: 11.  About the Author(s): Jim Biscardi is President of New Jersey Christian Ministries, Inc. This is an apt illustration when you consider that at His coming He will "steal" away all those who have trusted Him as their personal Lord and Savior. In 1/20th of a second (i.e. in the blink of an eye), Christians all over the world will disappear, and, along with the dead in Christ who will be raised with immortal bodies, be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. And forever they will live, rule, and reign with Him. But how does preparing for a thief relate to living our Christian life? Like A Thief In The Night

This book describes Christ's leadership qualities and behaviors. The attributes of the mantle, worn by God's prophets, help us visualize Christlike leadership. Leaders in the home, workplace, church, school, as well as Great Commission believers, need to use Christlike leadership to build-up their people for success and also to prepare them for Christ's return. The Mantle first describes how God makes leaders - how leaders learn to follow first. It then presents 4 character qualities of leadership: The Servant-Leader; Heart-To-Heart; Wisdom From Above; and Pull Don't Push. These qualities are also found in the cross of Christ. There are 8 behaviors identified that apply to every area of leadership (i.e. as spouses, parents, grandparents, pastors, deacons, supervisors, foremen, teachers, principals, coaches, and Christian believers making disciples for Christ). These behaviors are: Open to the ideas of others - listen; Being loyal & building Loyalty; Building up our people's self esteem; Building unity and family; Good communications and planning; Recognizing and rewarding good performance; Rating performance well; and, Developing a heart for customer service. In each of these, the reader sees Christ's example through the prophet's mantle. The mantle, like Christ, provided covering, protection, and comfort. It was an instrument of empowerment. It served and provided freedom, identification and recognition. It helped them through wind and rain storms as Christ brings us through the storms of uncertainty, chaos, change, and broken trust. The mantle concludes with the eternity of Christ's leadership - the same yesterday, today, and forever.
