In the Rape of Eve: The True Story Behind the Three Faces of Eve, Dr. Ross provides a documented account of the exploitation of Chris Sizemore, the real Eve, by her psychiatrist, Dr. Corbett Thigpen. In 1953, Dr. Thigpen had Chris Sizemore sign over her lifetime story rights to him and his colleague, Dr. Hervey Cleckley: the two doctors paid her $3.00 for these rights - one dollar for each of her three personalities. This was all the money she received for the best selling book The Three Faces of Eve, written by Drs. Thigpen and Cleckley. Dr. Ross lived in the Canadian Artic from 1970-1975, and again the summers of 1976 and 1977. He spent three winters there without running water in his home, and one without electricity. During these years, he spent countless hours in the bush, hunting, hiking and studying the energy fields of the wilderness. He also observed and participated in the industrial and political life of the North, and read widely in anthropology. The essays in Northern Canada are from this period and reflect these different interests.

Terese, a woman treated in Dr. Ross' private practice, is a survivor of childhood trauma that included paternal incest, ritual abuse and military mind control.
