I have written my real life struggle as an ordinary woman that has been forced to not only live through domestic violence but survive it. I could be anyone you know. It explains what led me down the path to marriage so violent it nearly cost me the life of not only myself but also my son. This narrative flashes back to forbidden love, the choice I had to make between my heritage, my family, and this passionate relationship. This memoir will take you inside the author's struggle with death after her best friend commits suicide. Which then leads to her first failed marriage prior to the domestic violence marriage. My story is not just about my right to truly live. It is about my son's right to live a life outside of fear and anxiety. Just like me, he was forced to suffer through a violent marriage. But his story, our story, went even further. He was forced to visit a biological father that threatened not only his life but the life of his mother. He had to deal with a father that took his rage out completely on him on the weekend visitations required by the courts.The Music Box, Secrets Revealed Behind my Door is our story. The cowboys' life was not glamorous. It was hard work everyday and into the evenings as well. The cowboy was paid one to four dollars a month to herd the unruly and skittish longhorn cattle, to rope the strays and brand them, and to be able to drive the herds many, many miles to the railroads in Kansas for shipment back East. The cowboy knew he could be crushed under a stampede or even be hit by lightning on the open plains. He was fortunate if he made it to a town once or twice a year. It didn't take a degree from a college, but a lot of guts and doggedness to be a real cowboy. The cowboy was usually a young man with little ties to home and a strong desire to roam. He was extremely devoted to his partners on the range and would die fighting for them. He wore the same clothes every day and ate whatever the chuck wagon cook gave him. He carried a bedroll tied behind the saddle and slept on the ground regardless of the weather. He became as hard as nails but had the graciousness to all whom he met. He was a real hero of the Old West.

This book deals with all that I have felt as well as a few of my friends have felt struggles. Some have known Jesus Christ and know what He did for us, believers, yet they forgot that His Promise cannot be broken. We are all sinners and fall short of the Glory of God. Jesus Died on the Cross for all our sins, now and forever because he loves us. This book is also for those who have not accepted Christ and do not know where to turn.

A Social Emotional Literacy Curriculum for Adolescents contains vignettes about real- life issues that challenge today's adolescent student. The design and content of the curriculum provide a means for teachers and group leaders to engage students in real life issues that may impact their lives. There are seventy vignettes that are taken from actual situations that arise in school and represent challenges in decision making that many students will encounter. The vignettes are open-ended and there are three components to each lesson. Students participate in a pre-reading discussion to front-load the issue raised in the vignetter. Then a reading. of the vignette follows. There are a set of discussion questions that follow where students have make inferences and cite evidence from the vignetter to support their conclusions. The literacy component is fused with the issue on which the vignette is based to promote more connection and discussion. Each lesson is a black line master that is easily duplicated and a student answer sheet is provided in the front matter of the text.
