<p>Cowboy Mafia takes place in the early 1980s. It is about a young bull rider with a briefcase full of dreams and an empty wallet. His journey to ride the professional rodeo circuit by taking shortcuts to fame and fortune are met with one bad decision, only to be exceeded by the next. With the promise of a voyage down the rodeo trail that has no end, John is seduced into the life of smuggling meth. John has strong family ties, and eventually meets the love of his life, Lisa. His heart plays an emotional game of tug of war between Lisa, his family and his passion of being a rodeo cowboy, pulling against his friend, and drug kingpin, Joe. John Paul Jones gives the reader a birds-eye view of the dangers of bull riding and drug smuggling. Although this book is not 100% non-fiction, most stories are loosely based on actual events.</p>
