A sumptuous survey of Mexico's foremost photographer 
Through more than 200 photographs, this luxurious volume presents Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide’s most iconic works alongside an important selection of previously unpublished photographs and a series of color photographs specially commissioned by the Fondation Cartier. 
Working mainly in black and white, Iturbide has explored the cohabitation between ancestral traditions and Catholic rites in Mexico, humanity’s relationship with death and the roles of women in society. In recent years, her photographs have emptied themselves of human presence, revealing the enigmatic life of objects and nature. In addition to her stark images of her homeland, this book also includes images from her series in India, the United States and elsewhere. Heliotropo 37, named for the photographer’s address in Mexico City, also contains an interview with the photographer by French essayist Fabienne Bradu, an original short story by Guatemalan writer Eduardo Halfon and a photo-portrait of Iturbide’s studio by Mexican photographer Pablo López Luz. 
One of the most influential photographers active in Latin America today, Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide (born 1942) began studying photography in the 1970s with legendary photographer Manuel Álvarez Bravo. Seeking “to explore and articulate the ways in which a vocable such as 'Mexico' is meaningful only when understood as an intricate combination of histories and practices,” as she puts it, Iturbide has created a nuanced and sensitive documentary record of contemporary Mexico. She lives and works in Mexico City.

The latest volume of the polymathic filmmaker's protean nude portraiture 
Though he is best known as a writer and director, David Lynch has long been dedicated to photography. This volume is the second installment of Lynch’s series of photographic explorations of the female figure. Digital Nudes brings together a corpus of previously unpublished digital images in line with the aesthetics of the first volume’s analog photographs, while experimenting with the possibilities offered by digital technology. 
Kaleidoscopic visions of legs, arms or inscrutable landscapes of soft skin, chiaroscuro portraits where the stark lighting cuts across his subjects as cleanly as a knife, images of varnished nails and lacquered mouths all appear―the American filmmaker’s photography embodies a style that can only be described as “Lynchian.” The Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain presents this collection of images that combine the surreal and the sensual to create new, nearly uncanny interpretations of feminine beauty. 
David Lynch (born 1946) is the enigmatic mastermind behind some of the strangest and most beloved contemporary classics in cinema and television. His filmography includes Eraserhead (1977), Dune (1984), Blue Velvet (1986), Mulholland Drive (2001) and the cult television program Twin Peaks (1990–91), which he co-created with producer Mark Frost. He has received numerous prestigious accolades, including the Golden Lion lifetime achievement award at the Venice Film Festival in 2007. Lynch primarily lives and works in Los Angeles.

A photographic essay on Southern France's neglected but characterful villages 
In Communes, French photographer Raymond Depardon (born 1942) explores the villages of the Mediterranean inland region, in the South of France. These villages have long been abandoned, threatened by the “Nant concession,” a shale gas extraction project that was heavily protested by inhabitants and finally abandoned in 2015. Since then, the villages, with their cobbled streets and old houses with jagged facades and scanty windows, have once again become inhabited by people. The villages represent havens where tranquility and cool prevail. 
The black-and-white photographs that comprise this work were made after the first lockdown, during the summer of 2020, a backdrop that highlights the isolation of life in these small villages. The regions pictured include the south of the Massif Central in Aveyron, Lozère, Gard and Hérault.\nFrom the Back Cover\nCommunes est un essai photographique de Raymond Depardon sur les villages de l'arrière-pays méditerranéen.

A selection of the late Indigenous Australian artist’s jubilantly colorful abstractions 
The Indigenous Australian artist Sally Gabori (c. 1924–2015) began painting late in life, at about the age of 80. Over the course of her 10-year career, she produced around 3,000 paintings, a volume that speaks to the unfettered passion with which she embarked upon her art. Published in conjunction with the artist’s first retrospective in France, this monograph features 96 artworks, including the selection of 30 paintings in the exhibition. 
The book invites further discovery of Gabori’s colorful, abstract oeuvre―which is keenly informed by the history of her people, the Kaiadilt―with contributions from Nicolas Evans, a scholar of Kaiadilt culture and friend of Sally Gabori’s family, as well as Judith Ryan and Bruce McLean, curators of Indigenous art. These contributors read her practice through the context of Indigenous traditions.

Three decades of Ron Mueck’s realist, pathos-laden portraits of human frailty 
After garnering international attention for his stirring small-scale piece Dead Dad (1996–97), UK-based sculptor Ron Mueck (born 1958) became famed for his detailed, tender renderings of his subjects. Although breathtakingly lifelike, his works depart from realism in their scale, and are always either smaller than life-size or monumental. Published on the occasion of a much-anticipated exhibition at Fondation Cartier, this catalogue raisonné expands upon the institution’s 2013 publication. Spanning Mueck’s 30-year career, it reproduces all of his sculptures through photographs and previously unpublished documents. Artist’s notes, studio shots, preparatory drawings and photographs of models invite the reader to discover Mueck’s creative process; contributions from scholars Justin Paton, Robert Rosenblum and Robert Storr, and philosopher Peter Sloterdijk, explore the major themes underlying his art.

Gathering around a hundred works as well as many archive photographs, this book on artist Olga de Amaral retraces the evolution of her practice over time and the major role she played in the revolution of Fiber Art. Olga de Amaral is an emblematic figure of the Colombian art scene and of Fiber Art. Unclassifiable, her work borrows as much from Modernist principles, as from her cultural heritage and traditional Colombian weaving techniques. A contemporary of Magdalena Abakanowicz and Sheila Hicks, she participated in the revolution of Fiber Art in the 1960s and 1970s. Amaral's hand-woven works combine natural fibres, paint, plaster and precious metals, and reflect her interest in architecture and geometry. While her early works featured geometric motifs and bright colours, those of the 1970s marked the start of her research on three-dimensionality, with works that free themselves from the wall to invade space. She then returned to a more human and intimate scale, with colours inspired by Colombian landscapes. From October 2024 to March 2025, the Fondation Cartier unveils the full richness and power of Amaral's art in her first major retrospective in Europe. Bringing together historical works never presented outside Colombia, as well as contemporary pieces with vibrant shapes and colours, the exhibition highlights the artist's career-long experimentation with materials, scale, and three-dimensionality.
