Between You and Me: Transitional Comics is a collection of comics that reflects two transitions—from a person who doesn’t draw to a cartoonist and from a butch lesbian to a transgender dude. I stopped drawing when I was a kid and didn’t start drawing again until I was 33 years old and brave enough to take my first course with cartoonist Lynda Barry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It was through the experience of drawing myself in the world on the page that allowed me to draw myself out into the world, to realize that I am transgender and that I wanted to transition. The comics in Between You and Me reflect the experiences of a transgender and transitioning person navigating daily life and observing the world around him. The book concludes with a dialogue between me and Lynda, a conversation between student and teacher about gender and drawing and discovery and growing up and everything in between! NOTE! Prologos is Jonathan Bayliss's sparkling, complex, experimental, playful, serious, richly detailed literary masterpiece of the 20th century whose protagonist, Michael Chapman, is the "author" or "controller" of the other three novels in Bayliss's GLOUCESTERMAN tetralogy. The foreground is California's Bay Area about a decade after the end of World War 2. The background is the pre-war East Coast (Cambridge, Gloucester, Manhattan) and the wartime and post-war Pacific of Chapman's Naval service. Living in Oakland with wife and children, he yearns for the Gloucester that he left as a child, and for the European world he's never seen. He is torn three ways by domestic love, by the practical matters of his livelihood, and by the conflicts of intellectual life. No one reader will sympathize with all the manias or crochets either of Chapman or of his friend Caleb Karcist. But a thoughtful reading will engage almost anyone's mind with the novel's intellectual departures from traditional narrative. Prologos generates anthropological, economic, technical, and literary ideas from a base of erotic and social realism. This novel is a diamond mine for digging, a sandy stream for panning gold.

Like Gloucesterbook and Gloucestertide, this richly detailed, playful, and expansive novel is centered on the Atlantic Coast's seaport "Dogtown" on "Cape Gloucester." Rafe Opsimath and Caleb Karcist are now older, with new practical, social, and intellectual preoccupations in 1980s Dogtown. Woven into the narrative are the Cape Gloucester and Isle of Man of the 1920s, Dogtown legends and municipal affairs, the fate of the schooner Gloucesterman, the play The Tower of Gilgamesh, and a Court of Love. Expanding the network of friends, spouses, and lovers, new central characters are intertwined in the sprawling web of ideas, history, geography, responsibility, experience, conversation, and love that make GLOUCESTERMAN unique in the world of literature. Happy childhood summers by the sea at Pigeon Cove … rebellion against Victorian parents … Bohemian life in the Roaring Twenties … ill-fated marriage … a mental hospital stay … child rearing in dire poverty … These are some of the memories that Lois Henderson Bayliss reflects on through the pages of her Journal, while confiding thoughts about her love life, her family, and some prominent inhabitants of 1930s Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a young woman, she struggles to raise three children alone in rundown neighborhoods near Harvard University. In middle age, she writes from the jungles of South America, with vivid descriptions of Primavera, Paraguay, and the Bruderhof Protestant commune where she lived during the 1950s. Later, she recounts desperate searches for cheap housing and work in the Boston area, and her jobs of baby-nurse, cook, pantry-maid, and rooming-house manager.
