Alpha Hand is a system of adapting longhand for fast writing. Because it is based on natural longhand writing habits, the learner starts writing immediately. Alpha Hand is easy to read back because only three symbols are used along with longhand letters. These symbols are a straight line and two curves. Alpha Hand uses only one disjoined symbol. Longhand letters are used for prefixes and suffixes. There are no awkward joinings. The Alpha Bit Speed Builder will enable the learner to achieve a speed of 50 wpm by Lesson 2. Alpha Bit speed builders appear throughout the book. Each of the 30 lessons has been designed to be covered in 30 minutes allowing the remainder of the session to be used for dictation and review. Legibility has been the main design consideration. Therefore, there are no arbitrary eliminations of letters. The book is lesson-planned and self-teaching.
