<p>Fifteen years ago, Charlene was a healthy, normal house-wife and mother of 3 who loved to cook, entertain, and travel the world. But all that changed when she suffered a massive stroke that left her severely speech impaired, and paralyzed on her right side. Her first 2 years were the toughest. Having to deal with the grief process was not easy for her, or her loved ones. There was alot of anger, directed mostly at the ones who loved her, then depression...then finally, acceptance. She lost everything that was dear to her; her big, beautiful home, her new car, her relationship with her grand-daughter, and most of her friends. Over the last 13 years, she began to rekindle her faith in God, that He has always been in control of her situation. She is now fully comfortable with why God would allow such an experience to happen in her life, since she acknowledges that much good has come about from it. She has a different, more wonderful perspective on things now than she once did. Today, she is happy, and accepting of her situation, and is OK if she never regains the use of her limbs and speech again. Her future and purpose are in God's hands, and is excited to help people through their unbelievable hardships. Charlene's story is truly amazing, and very encouraging to everyone. All who meet Charlene instantly fall in love with her. Her way of communicating without words is very interesting and very entertaining to experience. She is also a woman of great faith. At times, we all wonder how we would respond, if a similar circumstance were to happen to us, or to one of our family. She has been non-verbal and paralyzed on one side since September, 1996 as a result of an unexpected, and unexplained stroke. You truly will be amazed at Charlene's great positive attitude, which tends to keep our own problems in their proper perspective. Charlene's story is an encouraging testimony that inspires anyone who hears it.</p>
