It is also an exploration of what it means to be an Avatar - a descended God - from the perspective of how we create meaning in life, create a mind-born universe and walk the path of enlightenment. Hymn of the Avatar promotes an Avatar-centered vision of spiritual life - that our equality before Gods and all sentient life forms is the starting point for our journey of self-discovery. Ultimately, if we are Avatars, then to meditate is to practice, through imitation, the work of God and the work of Gods: the consistent mental and spiritual practice of creation. This creation-centered approach to meditation is different from other approaches to meditation and enlightenment. It centers the act of awakening on the daily habit of making the world. Ultimately, this book is a celebration of the power of humans to shape reality, to stand among all sentient life, incarnate or not, as equal sparks of life and love.
