Our Founders planned well and wisely and were undoubtedly influenced to no small degree (whether they knew it or not) by the All-wise overruling Divine Providence. This book details the history of the Great Seal from its beginning with the resolution on July 4 1776 for its preparation to its final approval by Congress on June 20 1782 following Charles Thomson's report. Mr. Capt calls to our attention the significance of the devices on the Seal embodied in the report: "From Thomson's 'Remarks and Explanation' it is clear that every device on the Great Seal (obverse and reverse) is symbolic in that it represents another thing. Heraldry itself is a language of symbolism. Government publications explain the official intent of the symbolical meanings of the various devices of the Seal however students of Biblical symbolism suggest that there are other mystical and esoteric meanings hidden in the design of our National Arms. . . . there is cause to believe that there is a deeply religious and supremely spiritual truth incorporated in the Great Seal. This will become more and more obvious as we proceed to elucidate the symbolism of each device of the Seal."Much detail is devoted to each one of the devices incorporated in the Great Seal and the spiritual significance attached to them. The book also includes a glossary of heraldic terms used in the description of the Great Seal that is most helpful in understanding the many devices that make up the Seal. The Book of Enoch is now usually designated I Enoch to distinguish it from the later Apocalypse "The Secrets of Enoch" which is known as II Enoch. The former is called the Ethiopic Enoch the latter the Slavonic Enoch after the languages of the earliest versions extant of each respectively. The Book of Enoch like the Book of Daniel was written originally in Aramaic and partly in Hebrew. No copy of the original language of either is known to be in existence. Latin and Greek versions have only in part been discovered but the Ethiopic Version has been preserved in twenty-nine manuscripts. The manuscript upon which this translation was made was found in Ethiopia in 1768 by the Scotsman James Bruce. . . . . . . According to Canon R. H. Charles the various elements of which the Book of Enoch in its present form is made up belong to different dates. Thus one can expect a diversity of authorship and of this there can be no shadow of doubt. However while there is not unity of authorship there is none the less uniformity. Several scholars suggest we should speak of the collection as the "Books" of Enoch not the ""Book" of Enoch. Some of the authors of the Book of Enoch (and there were many) belonged to the true succession of the prophets and it was simply owing to the evil character of the period in which their lot was cast that they were obliged to issue their works pseudonymously.

This translation by George H. Schodde from the Ethiopic Text has been THE most popular and recommended version by biblical scholars for some thirty years. It gives a better understanding of the work and teachings of both Christ and His disciples as also the writings of the latter their doctrines beliefs and the spirit of New Testament Judaism. This first century commentary on portions of Genesis and Exodus said to be the oldest of all the Midrashim is representative of how the learned contemporaries of Christ made use of the Biblical books for their own peculiar purposes and objective. It gives an extensive account of the fall of the angels and the dire consequences of their sins with the daughters of men. Time is counted in jubilees. The central principle of Jewish orthodoxy was the nomistic principle that obedience to the law in all its real and imagined ramification must be the basis for acceptance before God. Thus there was an impassable gulf fixed between the theological system of the Jews and that of Christ and his disciples. The full contribution of the Book of Jubilees to the New Testament can only be secured through a careful and patient study of every chapter and verse. In order to enable scholars who are not acquainted with the Ethiopic to do this work this present translation is offered.

Commentary by E. Raymond Capt The Sonnini Manuscript better known as The Long Lost Chapter of The Acts of the Apostles contains the account of Paul's journey in Spain and Britain. The document purporting to be the concluding portion of the Acts of the Apostles covers a portion of the period after Paul's two years enforced residence in Rome in his own hired house. It is written in the style of the Acts and reads like a continuation. The Bible gives a fairly complete account of the life of St. Paul; his conversion his missionary journeys and his martyrdom in Rome. But there is a period of time approximately six years of which the Bible remains silent. This would be the period after his trial and acquittal in Rome and before his return to Rome to cast his fate with his many converts. These were his Christian brethren who were being put to death by the thousands during the reign of Emperor Nero. It would be reasonable to assume that during this period Paul visited Spain as he had planned (Rom. 15:28) and perhaps re-visited some of the churches in Asia Minor. But Paul had expressed a desire to preach the Gospel to those whom the name of Christ was not known. There can be no question that Paul had heard of the "Tin Islands" because the Romans had already conquered the greater part of Britain. The apostle could have met many in Rome and elsewhere who had been there either as traders or with the Roman army. Having journeyed so near to Britain as Spain and Gaul it is altogether reasonable to suppose that Paul would have made the short voyage across the English Channel. Stapleback - 2016 Edition

It was rumored that he owned many of the merchant ships that came to these Isle of the West from Rome and Phoenicia to barter for metal and other goods The auburn haired lad was also known. He had accompanied His uncle on a prior visit staying at the village and exploring the surrounding territory while His uncle conducted his business at the nearby Mendip lead mines. But this time a woman perhaps in her early thirties was with them. As the boy helped the woman ashore the crew proceeded to unload various sized chests and sacks obviously belonging to them. Accommodations were soon found and the baggage was carried to one of the tiny huts facing the estaury. In the weeks that followed the merchant and the boy constructed a wattle hut similar to those of the village on a nearby island. The site they chose was at the base of a hill from which ran a spring of fresh water. Hawthorne and oak trees dotted the landscape. Small game and fish were in abundance and the marshy fertile shores promised bountiful crops. When the hut was finished the woman and the boy moved from the village to their new home.
