<p>The steel wire drawing industry boasts of one lakh uses of wire in our daily life. There are very few books on steel wire, Such as, Wire by Anton Pomp which is now out of print; Galvanizing by Henrik Bablik which also shares the same fate, and Steel wire hand books, published by Wire Association International Inc., USA. All the above mentioned books have a thread in common and i.e., they are mainly theoretical and eminently useful in understanding the mechanism and intricacies of wire drawing and other aspects related to it. This book is not written in the conventional form having chapters giving details of a particular subject in each chapter. The same system of compiling notes is followed — viz., arranging topics in an alphabetical order where one can pick up details on any topic — as in the case of a dictionary. The change in format however, does not diminish the scope of covering all aspects of wire industry.</p>
