<p>Byron Wolfe wasn't the kind of artist who painted the West simply because it sold in the galleries. He painted the West because he loved the drama and color of that chapter of our country's history. His paintings usually relate to some actual event or specific location. Each work is the result of significant research, which becomes a detailed account of an event that took place along some dusty trail or in some forgotten cow town. His work and his unique personality contributed greatly to the western art scene. </p>
<p>The paintings presented in this collection corral the spectrum of Western Americana, from Indian life and lore to the brashness of early day outlaws; from cowboys and the open plain to sod busters and the advent of barbed wire.</p>
