Un petit millier de lettres d'Erik Satie - certaines composées seulement de quelques lignes - ont été classées année par année, chaque année étant précédée d'un rappel des événements qui s'y sont produits dans la vie et dans l'oeuvre du compositeur.

In the collective imagination, the figure of Erik Satie is inseparable from the music. But few creative people have endeavored as much as he to rid the works of all trace of subjectivity.
