<p>"Happy Are You Who Affirm: A Book of Reflections" is about life, its struggle and its beauty. This book does not have all the answers concerning our journey in life, but it does have some of them. The reader is invited to pause and consider the thoughts expressed herein. While this book is about affirmation, the author makes no claims to having discovered a new theory of affirmation. However, he does note his indebtedness to the writings and scholarship of Martin Buber, and to the German Thomistic philosopher Josef Pieper. Buber and Pieper are the great names in philosophical and psychological thought concerning affirmation. Affirmation is basically gospel living, and though the author's psychotheological approach to this topic is original, certainly this approach is one of emphasis and explanation rather than discovery.</p>
