Hauntings came about because of several reasons. First, I have had numerous experiences which have formed the basis for this book. Second, my family and friends have decided that I am a remarkable story teller, plus writing is something that gives me great satisfaction, and third, my grandchildren love to hear the stories and they (along with the current reader) can now enjoy them in print! 
	These intertwined stories are true tales of one boy&#8217;s journey to manhood and the mysterious, shadowy, even scary unknown that has followed his footsteps throughout his life. It involves young boys, teenagers, ghosts, and haunted houses. 
	You might find it scary, frightening, creepy, chilling, terrifying, daunting, forbidding, bloodcurdling, intimidating, menacing, but in the end, I hope you find it entertaining.

This story is a historical fiction based on the events in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It begins before his birth, as it tells in story form about when Mary and Joseph are to be betrothed and the challenges they face as a young couple in love, but being blessed in such a way by the Lord as for Mary, the virgin, to carry the Son of God. Joseph and his father, Jacob, make a beautiful cradle for the Christ child and give it to Mary. Soon after, circumstances beyond the young couple's control take them from their home in Nazareth to Bethlehem where the babe is born in a humble manger. Meanwhile, the cradle is used for another baby boy whose life intersects with Jesus's from the beginning to the very end. The story of the birth and part played by John the Baptist weaves into the story as well, and of course, the journey to Bethlehem by the young couple, Joseph and Mary. Ironically, on the very same night that the Christ child enters the world in a humble manger in Bethlehem, another baby boy is born in Nazareth, and actually is placed into the beautiful cradle. The two boys lives cross one another in interesting ways as they grow up, but they are very different from each other . . . with Jesus following his Father s will, and Goel becoming a rebel against the Roman rulers. Most all incidents that portray Jesus are based on scriptural truths from the King James version of the Holy Bible, and cross referenced, and additional ones are based on the principles he practiced throughout his life and ministry. Readers will learn and appreciate more about our Savior, Jesus Christ, as they follow the story of these two men, and become engrossed in the parallel, but very dissimilar lives. A surprise element enters the story near the end, portraying possible but not factual information, which unites the two main characters in ways unexpected for the reader with an ending that shows how even the most rebellious lives can be touched by kindness and mercy. For study groups, there is a Book Review Study Springboard section, as well as some explanation of Hebrew names, terms, and traditions used within the story.
