2009 was a special year for Swip Stolk. It marks the 50th anniversary of the start of his career as a graphic designer. In this book he looks back on that period. The quest for new forms and expressions, materials and applications is a constant theme in his development as a graphic designer and visual artist. The foundations were laid in the 1960s and 1970s, when he soon made his name on the innovative front as an exponent of a new generation that was consciously looking for new answers. Swip Stolk has a special place in graphic design in the Netherlands. His work can be recognised from afar as his own: in his very own unique visual style.
