Agustín consiguió la llave del refectorio y cuando Leonardo no está, se dedicó contemplar su obra cuya belleza le deslumbró totalmente pero a la vez le preocuparon y luego horrorizaron muchos detalles que al principio no entendió. Pero las pistas fueron pocas y la investigación se complicó con unos cuantos asesinatos. El simpático bibliotecario se suicidó, otro fraile empezó a predicar doctrinas cátaras para luego prenderse fuego. Un peregrino se encontró asesinado en la iglesia....
