<p>This writing didn't start out to be a book. It started with me speaking to God telling Him I wanted to do something with the rest of my life that made a real impact. I got an unexpected answer -- God said I was to pour my life into my grandchildren. It was they who would make the impact. I starting having lunch with Ben on Fridays. I would share some of these thoughts with him. Other times I would be thinking of things I wanted to say, but was reluctant to say some of them. I didn't want to be a boring old man! So I held back some of my thoughts and instead started writing them down. But as time went by, I think he and I got to talk through most of my thoughts on life. I knew I would never get to share my heart with my grandkids who live in New Mexico and didn't know if life would allow me the time to share my thoughts with my younger Kentucky grandkids. By putting my thoughts together as a book, I have the chance to speak to each of you; and hopefully you will come back to visit me in this book many times in the years ahead. As you read these thoughts, know that God has called you to have an impact in your part of the world. Love, Granddaddy</p>
