ABOUT THE AUTHOR Herrick S. Roth has had direct and daily involvement in the American labor movement since World War II. A founding member of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) in Denver in 1946, he completed eight terms on the executive council of the AFT as vice president over the years 1953 to 1958 and 1962 to 1972. He has also served as the full-time elected president of the Colorado Labor Council, AFL-CIO (CLC) from 1962 to 1973. His career, although primarily trade union oriented, has been shared with education and political action....
