Dr. Whitney has transcribed all of Mr. Gammell's letters and they are fascinating for what they reveal about his personality, his views on art and other artists, literature, music and life in general. This book is a supplement to studio instruction. It can easily fit in a paint box. Although I have written this book for other artists, anyone with an interest in art can read it and greatly increase their appreciation and understanding of classical realism.</p>
