You probably learned in school that the earth is billions of years old, and there are constant reminders of this in the media. What you may not know is that there is good scientific evidence that the earth is less than ten thousand years old. You may be thinking, "What difference does it make, whether the earth is thousands or billions of years old?" There are two important reasons. First and foremost, Christian faith will be strengthened when it is shown that scientific data supports the age of the earth described in the Bible. Also, one of the essential pillars for molecules-to-man evolution is an ancient earth. If that pillar falls, then evolution falls with it. Reasons to Affirm a Young Earth

The Bible warns "do not give the devil a foothold" (NIV, Eph. 4:27), and choosing an English word that goes beyond the Greek opens up multiple problems. There are many passages in the Bible that point to measured and proportional punishment for the wicked, but mistranslating Matthew 25:46 relative to the wicked has led to confusion.  It has fostered a concept of Jesus that clashes with God's Word. Measured punishments in hell is consistent with the teaching of the Bible in many places, but "traditionalists" say that just one sin merits unending punishment. Jude 1:7, however, says, "Sodom and Gomorrah... serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal lasting/aionios fire." Here, in a single verse, we see that aionios cannot mean ever-lasting. The burning up of Sodom and Gomorrah was limited in duration, after which they were gone! There is no more existence of Sodom and Gomorrah. Aionios fire, therefore, means lasting fire - not ever-lasting fire. Do we believe this example given by the Lord's younger brother, or are we going to align with Plato, Tertullian, the Roman Catholic hierarchy, and errant traditionalists?341 passages are considered in this book, and none point to a Lord Jesus Christ who will inflict punishments on the majority of human beings for an eternity in hell. JESUS OUTSIDE the BIBLE

We believe many sincere Christians have been misled into believing a lie, that hell supposedly will never end. This is a slander against Christ. He said "Behold, I am making all things new" (Rev 21:5). Does "all thing" include hell? Jesus earlier had said that people will suffer proportionally-according to their works-some with "many" stripes and some with "few" (Lk 12:47-48). He also said the "soul" of the unbeliever can be destroyed (Mt 10:28). Nevertheless, many sincere Christians have embraced the false-Greek notion that the "soul" somehow is naturally "immortal"-can never be destroyed. Should Christians believe Plato or Jesus? Unbelievers will eventually, after suffering for sin, cease being. A new translation has come out, THE LASTING BIBLE (TLB). It correctly translates two Bible words that have been mistranslated. Habakkuk 3:6, for example, says "He stood and shook the earth. He looked and made the nations tremble. The lasting (olam) mountains were crumbled. The age-old hills collapsed. His ways are lasting (olam)." The same Hebrew word is used both for long-time past and long-time future, and "lasting" is the English equivalent. To say God's ways are lasting is no insult to God; in fact, it is honoring Him by correctly translating His Word. The ESV mistranslates both with "everlasting" (adding "ever" to lasting), but the "mountains" all had a "beginning"-do not go back "everlastingly" into the past. There are 439 olams in the OT. The NT equivalent is aionios, and it also means lasting.
