<p>En esta obra se discuten las transformaciones socioculturales que han experimentado las sociedades y familias del campo mexicano en los ltimos aos. Los cambios, dice la autora, tienen que ver con seis grandes transiciones: transformacin de la economa familiar campesina, el trabajo, la migracin, la tenencia de la tierra, la herencia, la condicin femenina y la relacin campo-ciudad. Aunque cada uno de estos temas ha sufrido transiciones, cada uno ha seguido su ritmo particular. En este libro se privilegia el anlisis de la situacin femenina en el campo porque a lo largo de la investigacin result evidente que los cambios en la condicin femenina se han convertido en uno de los fenmenos ms significativos de la vida rural en este momento, pero en sntesis, se habla de familias y grupos domsticos campesinos empobrecidos, envejecidos, que han dejado de vivir de las actividades agropecuarias para depender, cada vez ms, de subsidios y salarios tan bajos que los obligan a migrar de manera continua. Estos grupos han tenido que aprender a vivir periodos de separacin prolongados o indefinidos. / This book discusses the social and cultural transformations that have been experienced by groups and families in the rural Mexico in the last few years. The author suggests that the changes are related to six important transitions: changes in the rural family economy, work, migration, property of the land, inheritance, the role of women, and the relation between the rural and the urban society. Although each of these issues has changed, each has done so at a different pace.
