In the second half of the volume, Louie and the others meet a little girl, Muriel, who is the daughter of a wealthy businessman in town. She has run away from her father because he has arranged a marriage for her. Merrill comes up with a plan to make the father annul the marriage, but it unfortunately leads to Louie taking the would-be groom's place!
