Follow the animals over the bridge and into the jungle and afterwards, mimic their steps up your child's back from the base of the spine up to the neck. The massaging aspect of their footsteps will calm your child. This can also be used as an imaginative exercise. Your child can request their own favourite animals to cross over the bridge and up their back. About the Author Janine was raised in Niagara Falls and now lives in Mississauga. Her three children were born in Burlington and raised in Oakville. She developed the Animals Over the Bridge technique for her youngest daughter who had trouble falling asleep. She adapted it into a poem 20 years later to explain the concept to her niece whose own daughter was having trouble getting to sleep. The poem became a book and Janine hopes it will help parents everywhere get their kids to sleep!
