<p>In 2002, Pat Tillman enlisted in the U.S. Army, giving up his lucrative professional football contract to do so.  He was sent to Afghanistan, where two years later, he was  killed.  At first his family was told he had died in the course of an enemy ambush, and he became a national hero.  But it soon became clear that Pat had died by friendly fire.  The circumstances surrounding his death were highly suspicious, and there was a cover-up by the Pentagon and White House to conceal what really happened.Since the book's original release in 2008, one of the primary drivers of the cover-up, General Stanley McChrystal, was promoted to head the U.S. military operation in Afghanistan, and then fired over his comments to Rolling Stone writer Michael Hastings.  A film documentary, The Tillman Story, about Pat Tillman's life and death, by director Amir Ba-Lev, became a major motion picture.  This new edition of the book is dedicated by the author, Pat Tillman's mother, to all military families, who are seeking to understand the sacrifices their sons and daughters have made.  They too are entitled to the truth from their government.</p>
