<p>On a hot but truly lovely, June morning, the word came: all worthy male members of the Church could receive the priesthood. At first I doubted the truthfulness of the words. Then I hoped hoped that if the words were true, I was not dreaming. As the day wore on I laughed, I cried I shouted I silently and openly prayed words of thanks to my Heavenly Father. Mary Frances Sturlaugson's prayers had been answered. The way was now clear for her to enter the temple of the Lord. receive her endowments, and serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Africa! That's where Mary wanted to go, to take the gospel to the Dark Continent, to her own people. But her call was to the Texas San Antonio Mission And to Texas she went, full of fear and foreboding, full of faith and conviction, anxious to share her burgeoning testimony and teach the gospel.</p>
