<p>After 45 years as a behind-the-desk accountant, Jim initiated a fitness regimen of walking near his mountain retirement home. At age 61, on a short segment of the Pacific Coast Trail in his local mountains, he was introduced to backpacking. "In a burst of enthusiasm, he told himself he could hike that! Another year of conditioning and then Jim spent major portions of his 63rd and 6rth years on the PCT. Be with him there as he coped with the difficulties and relished the joys. (Jackie)</p>
