The misconception has taken root in our world that the Christian religion was created by Jesus and his disciples. In fact, the true creators of Christianity were the Apostle Paul and his followers. It was they who wrote almost all the New Testament writings, although they had never seen or heard Christ. 
However, the true gospel of Jesus was much closer to Pharisaic Judaism than to Pauline Christianity. The disciples of Jesus—the apostles Peter, John and James—preached the teachings of the Son of Man, but their ideological opponent, the Apostle Paul, emphasized something else: the resurrection of the Son of God, which corresponded to the mythology of the pagans. 
In the second century CE, copyists, themselves former pagans, changed the original texts of New Testament writings to sanctify Paul's ideas with the authority of Jesus and to depict Christ as being in opposition to the Jews. To do this, they made numerous anti-Jewish and anti-Judaic additions to the New Testament. Moreover, they shifted the blame for the crucifixion of Christ from the Romans to the Jews. This blatant falsification of the legacy of Jesus laid the foundation for hostility to the people of Christ.

This book is dedicated to the most mysterious and controversial events in biblical history. On the basis of the biblical texts and ancient Near Eastern sources, the author, a professor of Near Eastern Studies, presents an entirely new view of the history of Early Israel and the origin of the Hebrew tribes. He suggests that the genealogy of biblical family constitutes a combination of the legends of two tribal groups – the southern and northern, which arrived in Canaan and then left for Egypt at different times. The Southerners stayed in Egypt for 430 years - the Northerners, 250 years - and occupied there different positions in the socio-political structure . These two groups of Western Semitic tribes left Egypt and conquered their place in Canaan at different times as well. The initial version of their common genealogy and history was composed during the United Monarchy in the first half of the 10th century B.C. The early biblical history with which we are familiar, up until 12th century B.C., only represents the history of the southern tribal group, “Jacob,” to which were later added a few fragments from the past concerning the northern group, “Israel.” Where the archaeologists and historians look for the history of one people, is in reality the hidden past of two relative, but different peoples. That is one of the primary reasons of the controversy between the facts mentioned in the Old Testament and archaeological discoveries of the last decades. The book takes a new look at the epoch of the patriarchs, the sojourn in Egypt, the Exodus, and the conquest of Canaan. It is written in a style that is clear, engaging, and easily accessible to the general public.

The greatest secret of the Bible is the fact that the ancient Hebrews, in reality, were two different tribal groups who arrived in Canaan and then left for the Nile Delta at different times. Both peoples then made their Exodus from Egypt at different centuries and reconquered their places in Canaan independently. The Israelites and Judahites properly came together for the first and last time only in the United Monarchy, and this was mainly as a result of the Philistine threat. It was then too that the authors of the Bible merged the family trees and narratives of the northern and southern tribes to create a common genealogy and history. However, the two peoples could not co-exist for long in the same harness, especially when the junior partner, Judah, was commanding the senior, Israel. Hence, the union fell apart forever. The biblical account of the deportation of the Israelites to Assyria is an extreme exaggeration of the tragedy’s scope. This has given rise to a myth regarding the loss of the ten northern tribes, whose traces are still being sought to this day from Mesopotamia to the Japanese islands. But in truth, the absolute majority of the Israelites remained where it was. And so did the Judahites; the Babylonian Exile claimed very few of them. The Israelites and Judahites eventually mixed with each other (with the exception of Samaritans) and thus two different peoples became one – the Judeans. Dr. Igor P.
