<p>Anger Management for Youth was written to assist grades 9 12 group leaders in teaching groups of adolescents to learn anger-management techniques. The major sections of this book include an introduction to Anger Management for Youth for group leaders, Getting Started, Anger Management for Youth modules, and monitoring and check-back tools. The introduction provides a brief history of Anger Management for Youth, key concepts about anger and anger management, and description of the model. It also covers specific leader competencies for both the group counseling and skills training approaches that are integrated in Anger Management for Youth. The overall program goals, objectives, and content of the modules are described and diagrammed.</p>

<p>Anger Management for Youth helps group leaders teach anger-management techniques to adolescents. Leaders are guided through the steps of preparing for a session, leading a variety of group activities, and reflecting afterward on how the session went. The five modules are sequenced to provide for group development and anger-management skills training assessment, skills building within the group, and skills application and transfer beyond the group with a strong focus on positive reinforcement and gaining self-control through practice. The appendix contains a number of tools to help group participants monitor their progress, stay on track, and celebrate successes.</p>

Reconnecting Youth: A Peer Group Approach to Building Life Skills is a research-based prevention program for reaching youth who are at risk for dropping out of school. The program uses a school-based, peer-group approach to enhance protective factors and reduce risk factors that are linked with adolescent problem behaviors in general, and with adolescent drug involvement specifically. The Reconnecting Youth program design includes tested school-based models for preventing drug abuse, school dropout, depression, and suicide behaviors among high-risk youth. The program involves partnerships among school personnel, youth, and parents, and addresses the effects that psychosocial risks and protective factors have on adolescent development within family, friendship, and school contexts.
