Lanier has been in local work with churches for over thirty years in Iowa, Florida, Oklahoma, and Colorado. For the past fifteen years, he has been in evangelistic meetings, campaigns, seminars, lectureship work, preaching in forty states and fourteen foreign countries.Lanier taught in Bear Valley School of Preaching in Denver, Colorado for eight years, and while in Denver, he was the founding editor of the Rocky Mountain Christian Newspaper, which he published for ten years. He has done extensive radio and TV work, including the recording of twenty-six video lessons on the Acts of the Apostles for International Video Bible Lessons, a series which has been used extensively world-wide, and on the Armed Forces Network. He has spoken on most of the major college and university lectureships in the brotherhood, as well as dozens of church lecture series and encampments across the nation.His writings include six books of Vacation Bible School literature published by the Gospel Advocate Co. and Lambert Publications, two volumes of "Twenty Years of the Problem Page," a compilation of the writings of his father, the late Roy H. Lanier, Sr. in the Firm Foundation (1957-1977), hundreds of articles in brotherhood papers, and a book "A Little Contribution," published by Western Christian Foundation.Lanier is married to the former Patricia Boswell and they have one daughter, Lee Hanstein, wife of a gospel preacher in Montrose, Colorado. They have two grandchildren, Laura and Will.
