"Song of the Prairie" is L.A. Warfel's first published book of poetry, although he has been writing poetry since he was in high school.  For many years, he shared his work very rarely, except within his family.About ten years ago, Dr. Zelema Harris, retired president of Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, discovered his poetry, and persistently urged him to share.  He finally relented, and he began to send fresh writings on a regular basis through email.Linden writes in response to his environment.  The relationship he has with the land he farms runs deep, and "Song of the Prairie" captures that for the reader.
