The section is divided into seven different segments, which are positional number systems, floating point arithmetic, multiple precision arithmetic, radix conversion, rational arithmetic, polynomial arithmetic and manipulation of power series. The book talks extensively about the accuracy of floating point arithmetic and ways to improve upon it.
