In the final round of competition, she was paired with a young actor named Hugh Beaumont, whom she later married, and she emerged from the shadow of her father to a brief career in motion pictures. Landing roles in movies with stars such as Ginger Rogers, Bing Crosby, Maureen O’Hara, Irene Dunne, and Lionel Barrymore, Kathryn came to understand and appreciate the love of her family and the mystery of life.
