Isaac C. Haight's personal journal can be found in a number of special collection libraries but is not readily available to the general public. I have taken the time to transcribe his journal so that more people can read his account of his life. The journal I used as my source was a microfilmed copy of a typescript of the original journal. Historical notes and pictures have been added throughout the book. This was done to create a small view into the world which surrounded Isaac Haight.

A number of states have adopted laws that allow medical use of marijuana. Federal law, however, does not recognize any accepted medical use for marijuana & individuals remain subject to federal prosecution for marijuana possession. Debate continues over the medical effectiveness of marijuana, & over government policies surrounding medical use. This report examines the implementation of medical marijuana laws in selected states: Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, & California, because they had medical marijuana laws in effect for at least 6 months & some data was available on patient & physician participation.
