Here Comes the Messiah! satirizes the multiple dimensions of Israel and characters struggling with the absurdities of life on the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv. The novel is filled with people claiming to be the Messiah, swindlers and the swindled, Jewish and Christian pilgrims, homosexuals, journalists, Holocaust survivors, Palestinian Arabs, children, and pets—a story told with as much humor as pathos. Dina Rubina lives in Ma’aleh Adumim, Israel. She is the author of two other long novels. Her work has been translated into 12 languages, and a three-volume collection of her work in Russian is forthcoming. Daniel M. Jaffe is a fiction writer and translator of Russian literature.

Dan Jaffe's book-length poem All Cats Turn Gray When the Sun Goes Down chronicles a day in the life of two striking grave diggers, Solomon and Cleophus, employed at Lincoln Cemetery where Charlie "Bird" Parker is buried. The diggers encounter picnicking families, hippies, young lovers, a military funeral for a soldier (for which they refuse to dig) and jazz musicians that come to play their respects to the Bird. Dan Jaffe is author of a dozen books and was founder of BkMk Press at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he taught for three decades.

Esta obra es un estudio histórico. Tiene por objeto comprender y analizar diferentes textos de la literatura talmúdica de los primeros siglos de la era cristiana, como el Talmud de Jerusalén, el Talmud de Babilonia, la literatura midrásica, etc. En el campo de la cronología histórica, esta literatura está vinculada a los Sabios del Talmud llamados tannaim y amoraim, es decir los maestros, del siglo I al V. La literatura talmúdica comprende, sobre todo, la Misná. En consecuencia, habrá que situar este trabajo en el campo de la investigación histórica relativa específicamente a la sociedad judía de la Antigüedad clásica de los dos primeros siglos de la era cristiana. Sin embargo, nuestra atención no se centrará únicamente en la sociedad judía y en el judaísmo; se dirige igualmente a los orígenes judíos del cristianismo. En efecto, nuestro propósito consiste en analizar las fuentes judías en las que se habla del cristianismo. Con la caída del Templo de Jerusalén, los Sabios llevaron a cabo lo que podría llamarse repliegue identitario, tomando como norma exclusiva su halaká, erigida en valor absoluto. Así fue como los discípulos judíos del movimiento de Jesús, conocidos comúnmente como judeo-cristianos, se vieron rechazados del culto de la sinagoga de manera progresiva. Este libro no es sólo un estudio sobre las relaciones entre los judeo-cristianos y los Sabios de los primeros siglos. Tiene igualmente como objetivo analizar ciertos pasajes talmúdicos relativos a Jesús de Nazaret o a Pablo de Tarso. No es necesario decir que no pretende en modo alguno llevar a cabo una investigación histórica exhaustiva de las fuentes del cristianismo en la literatura talmúdica. El lector encontrará aquí más bien ensayos históricos sobre textos escogidos, examinados con la intención de poner de relieve los aspectos polémicos que encierran. Dan Jaffé, es Doctor en Historia de las Religiones. Actualmente es profesor de Historia de las Relaciones entre el Judaísmo Rabínico y el Cristianismo primitivo en la Universidad Bar-Ilan (Israel).
