Doctrines of the Kingdom is the third in a series of four volumes setting forth the thought and doctrine expressed by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Preceded by God, Man and the Universe, and Principles of Perfection, this volume is an attempt to analyze the millennial kingdom of Christ which Joseph Smith envisioned and sought to establish.This book discusses the general order and program of the millennial kingdom, as a divine system based upon enlightening spiritual powers and the principle of mutual covenant; the economic law of the millennial system -- the law of consecration and stewardship -- as it would center in the City of Zion and be administered under the united order; the concept of the City of Zion and the New Jerusalem; the idea and the principles of the government of God -- the divine political system which would prevail in the millennium; and, finally, the divine patriarchial order, or the perfected order of the kingdom into which all of the above principles and programs would eventually be integrated and which would then exist as an eternal family order.More than setting forth a new combination of religious, social, economic, and political principles, Joseph Smith showed men how to bring enlightening and transforming spiritual powers into their lives, then integrate and synthesize all the functions of society into those spiritual truths and powers. If these principles were followed it would be possible to develop a distinctly new society based upon the highest ideals of human freedom and dignity.

Doctrines of the Kingdom, Volume III from the series Foundations of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ

Principles of Perfection, the second volume in a series of four on the thought and teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, is an analysis of the program of the gospel of Jesus Christ which was restored to earth through the latter-day Seer. Joseph Smith taught that the primary purpose of the plan of life and salvation is to bring man into a meaningful spiritual union with the Son of God so that he can be taught and renewed spiritually by the Master, through the Holy Spirit. The Prophet held that only within this divine union can man develop to his full potential as an eternal being and be glorified in Christ as Jesus is glorified in the Father. It follows that the value of a theological analysis of the gospel is that it may show man, through the systematic treatment of the principles, laws, and ordinances of the plan of life and salvation, how to achieve the primary purpose of that divine plan. Such a study may also help man to understand why he must achieve the spiritual union with Christ, which the gospel makes possible, and what benefits he may expect to receive by subordinating his life in truth to Christ.

Principles of Perfection, Volume II from the series Foundations of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ

Joseph Smith: The Man and the Seer brings into sharp focus the founder, under God the Father and his son Jesus Christ, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church stands or falls by the acceptance or rejection of the Prophet. The dispensation of the fullness of times gains credence or denial by the acceptance or rejection of the Prophet's divine calling. Dr. Andrus has deftly brought together material from friend to foe as well as from acquaintances of the Prophet. From each of these eyewitnesses comes a tribute to Joseph.
